Brian Haley presents research on Hopi to tribe’s Cultural Preservation Office

In Kykotsmovi, Arizona on March 12, Brian Haley presented his ongoing research to the staff of the Hopi Tribe’s Cultural Preservation Office and the Hopi elders who serve as cultural consultants to the office. His recent publications on the development of ties between a non-Indian counterculture and the Hopi Traditionalist faction which emerged after World War II had drawn the invitation from the Cultural Preservation Office’s staff. The presentation was well-received, and stimulated a lively discussion with illuminating comments, questions and encouragement from the elders.
