CASSC seeking faculty and staff partners

The Catskill Area School Study Council is proud to partner with DCMO BOCES to offer our 2nd annual “Career and College Destinations” program on October 15, 2019. This is an exploration program for area 8th grade students. Last year, the program brought 450 students to our campus and strengthened the relationships between the college and our local communities. Our program goals include building early career and college awareness in our rural students, providing 8th grade students a sense of the college experience/ opportunities at SUNY Oneonta, and creating enthusiasm and personal connections for students to college (@SUNY Oneonta!).

We are looking for partners to deliver two short interactive sessions to a small group of 8th grade students. Without the support of  SUNY Oneonta faculty and staff, this program would not be possible. Last year, we collaborated with a diverse group of SUNY Oneonta  partners including Career Development, Admissions, the Science Discovery Center and Planetarium, Division of Education, Anthropology and TV and Media- we are grateful for their support. If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact Suzanne Swantak-Furman, Executive Coordinator of CASSC at 436-2584 or email me at
